Greek participation for the 25th International Conference of Cartography

Open Source, cartography and Co.

Just a small post about different links.

They are from different websites but all speak about the Open Source softwares and the OS atmosphere!

A first link about the 12th Libre Software Meetingin Strasbourg (France). This is a big and nice meeting where you can see different applications for different topics. Just a black point is in relation with the percent of English presentations. They are no so much...

Second link is in relation with the 25th International Cartographic Conference in Paris. We are near from our favourite topic: Cartography and Web. This event could be one like many other. But if you see the agenda we have this webpage: http://kartoweb.itc.nl/kobben/ICA-OSGEO-workshop/    

It's directly more interessant!!! Material and KML...with a presentation to demonstrate again what is so beautiful to create/develop a geo-web Open Source Application.

GeoDjango και στα Ελληνικά!

Βάζω ένα άρθρο που μου έστειλε ο Στέφανος.
Αναφέρεται την εφαρμογή GeoDjango που βασίζεται στη βιβλιοθήκη Django. Είναι μια βιβλιοθήκη που απέδειξε τις δυνατότητες της...

'' Είναι μία παρουσίαση που είχαμε κάνει σε μία συνάντηση Ελλήνων Προγραμματιστών Python:

Πρόκειται για το GeoDjango, με τη βοήθεια του οποίου μπορεί κάποιος να κάνει web εφαρμογές (και όχι μόνο) σε συνεργασία με κάποιο spatial backend PostGIS ή και Oracle, MySQL κ.α.

Εκτός της παρουσίασης έχουμε γράψει και ένα tutorial για να ξεκινήσει κάποιος, επιπλέον δίνουμε κώδικα για το tutorial για να αρχίζει να «παίζει» κάποιος.

GeoDjango έχουμε βάλει στο filotis.itia.ntua.gr αν το έχετε επισκεφτεί. Επιπλέον φτιάχνουμε μία βάση δεδομένων για Υδρολογία που κάνει χρήση Geodjango, σχετικό υλικό στο: openmeteo.org
