Wold Camp Greece...Θεσσαλονίκη

Ξέρω ότι δεν υπάρχει μια μεγάλη σχέση με τη γεωπληροφορική αλλά έχει λίγο με το WebMapping και το Open Source.

Πρόκειται για μια Ημερίδα που αφορά την χρήση του Open Source CMS Wordpress. Το χρησιμοποιώ πάρα πολύ για την κατασκευή των ιστοσελίδων.

Όπως κάθε χρόνο, έτσι και φέρος, γίνεται μια καλή προσπάθεια από την ΕΛΛΑΚ για την αξιοποίηση των Ελεύθερων εφαρμογών στην Ελλάδα.

Πιστεύω ότι όλοι που έχουν ενδιαφέρον με τις ελεύθερες εφαρμογές και την ανεξαρτησία ξέρουν ήδη την ΕΛΛΑΚ και τις εκδηλώσεις της.

Η ΕΛΛΑΚ οργνανώνει τα τελευταία χρόνια μερικά συνέδρια

• Συνέδριο ΕΛ/ΛΑΚ 2011
• StatData Camp 2010
• GeoData Camp 2010
• Ημερίδα για Δημόσιο Τομέα
• Συνέδριο ΕΛ/ΛΑΚ 2010

και υπάρχει και φέτος μια ακόμη καλή προσπαθεία στην Αθήνα αλλά όχι μόνο.

SDI-EDU project at ICEIRD2011

SDI-EDU project was presented in Ohrid (FYROM) for the ICEIRD2011 Conference the last 6th May.

Title of the presentation focused on the Innovative Tools and Education.

 

Evkartenn represented the Greek partner ERFC to explain the place of the transfer experience in the topic of Regional Development.

After a focus on the aims and methods of the project, it was an opportunity to present quickly the softwares and tools used in the projects : BizBiz tool (Web browser for interactive learning) and the SDI-EDU portal.

MapGuide 3

Γράφω ένα γρήγορο άρθρο για το νέο MapGuide3 που βγήκε μόλις πριν μερικές μέρες.
Πρόκειται για μια καλή εφαρμογή που είχα δοκιμάσει 2 χρόνια πριν σε μια έκδοση που δεν ήταν τόσο δυνατή όσο τώρα.

Τότε θυμάμαι ότι το MapGuide είχε ήδη μια καλή εμφάνιση και ένα καλό design για το Client και για το Admin.

Είναι σίγουρο ότι η νέα έκδοση πρέπει να είναι ακόμη πιο ενδιαφέρουσα. Αν μπορούμε να έχουμε μια ενημέρωση από κάποιον που το δοκίμασε, θα είναι πολύ χρήσιμο.

Future of WebGIS

What is the future of WebGIS? 

It is one of my question like a WebMapper...

The evolution of the Webmapping technologies are very increased last years. Open Source community is very active and it is a precious source of new developments/new codes/new tools!

So, for this question, I found some elements and Dr Fu helps me. 

In an article of the last GeoConnexion, he mentions the future of WebGIS.

He presents four directions :

- A next generation of Spatial Data Infrastructure (SDI) built on open and easy geospatial webservices,

- More expressive and fun web Clients,

- Cloud-based GIS,

- Mobile services more than desktops or notebooks as primary client platform.

I am agree with him.Four directions and they explain :

- a web serivces ecosytem with contribution of many organizations,

- a need of a fast-responding of the tools (webclients),

- Connection for a clouding,

- a increasing use of mobile services.

Interessant but there is no information about the future place of the OS Geo Community in the (Web) GIS Community... Dr Fu works with ESRI, so I understand that he has no interest to present this point of view...
